Logo Assignment
I have chosen to represent my
self as a giraffe because I am tall, I am skinny, my favorite colour is yellow
even though giraffes are brown, and everyone says they are yellow, because from
far away they look slightly yellow. Giraffes are also really fast and I love
running, and I also find Giraffes to be calm, like me.
The elements/ principles of
design that I have used are texture, pattern, proportion, contrast, variety,
line, colour, shape, space, and form.
Texture: the giraffe spots
looks bumpy but it also look smooth. Pattern: the spot create a pattern.
Proportion: the spots change size, so some of them are really big and some are
really small. Contrast: I would say that there is contrast because of the
bright colour and because of the way the colour changes. Variety: I think the
spots create variety. Line: there is multiple line because we had to trace it. Colour: there is multiple colours (yellow, orange,
yellow, brown, black. Shape: the spots are different and odd-looking shapes. Space: the giraffe is my positive space and
the background is my negative space. And Form, it looks a bit 3D.
The technical part of this
assignment took me some time to get use to, I found it hard to use the pen tool
at first but as I got used to it, it got a lot easier. I learned a lot of tools like the pen tool,
undo, etc. I used 6 layers and I didn’t really use any effects I just found the
yellow/orange/red colour when I was looking for a certain colour for my
giraffe.
I am really happy with my
logo and how it turned out, there isn’t anything I would change except the style
of the letters. I learned that designing a logo is not the easiest thing to do,
when I seen the demonstration I thought it would be a breeze but no it was
really hard. Next, I want to make random designs on illustrator, and im not too
sure what I want to learn next.
Cool post.
